This should be drop-boxed by the beginning of next class.

For the rest of the quarter we will be working on only two things:

    1. Brave New World
    2. AP Test Prep

Begin to take a good look through the AP Test Prep materials available on this website. Did you notice there's an "AP Test Prep" tab? That's where to find it all.

For Monday
Read the article below. You will have a quiz over this material

    DOWNLOAD: "The Dystopian Imagination" (Dalrymple)

Begin reading Brave New World. First quiz (Chapters 1-3) is on Wednesday. For those of you who will not be here on Wednesday, read through Chapter 6 for Tues

On Tuesday, April 17, you will have your Frankenstein unit exam. You should download and review the following unit exam study sheet. Generally speaking, the format of much of this exam will be very similar to the AP exam for English Lit.

DOWNLOAD: Frankenstein unit exam study sheet (DOC)

Today, in class, you will be using your book and the intro materials from the class website in order to complete a data sheet for Frankenstein. This is required and must be completed today in class and then dropboxed. You may print out this data sheet and use it on the exam.

    DOWNLOAD: Frankenstein data sheet (DOC)

Type directly onto the sheet in Word. And remember to dropbox this at the end of class.

Frankenstein LRJ's
I will be collecting your LRJ for grading during the unit exam. You have four entries due.

Biotech presentations
Reminder: All parts of the group project are due on April 18. See previous blog entry for details.

Brave New World
The following week we will begin reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. If you would like to secure your own personal copy, I would do so now. I will have school-issue hardback books to distribute, but -- as always -- I recommend that you purchase your own copy to annotate.
