Today, you will begin reading Mark Haddon's Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and we'll begin our English Whodunit unit, which will also include a study of Sherlock Holmes' methods and a reading of The Hound of the Baskervilles.

For Wednesday -- Curious vocabulary + British terms quiz
For Friday -- have the book read in its entirety (comp quiz)

Short Story Encapsulations

Short Story Encapsulations Due Today
All media for your Short Story Video Encapsulations are due on Thursday, November
15. Make sure you have all video and sound/volume issues resolved before you turn in the
media. We will view the projects and discuss them in great depth the following class -- Monday, November 19.

These should be copied onto the X drive:
Teacher folders/Rose/2012 Encapsulation Videos/(either A2 or A3)

(Once you deposit your media, make sure you cna play it from that location. In other words, test it out.)

If, for whatever reason, you cannot copy your file(s) onto the X drive, you should give me your media on a flash drive. Any media not received on or before November 19 at 3:30 p.m. will be considered LATE and marked LATE.

For Monday
Finish up your re-telling of "The Nun's Priest's Tale" and dropbox it before the beginning of class on Monday.

The Monday when we return from break
Be prepared for unit exam. LRJs will be collected for grading.

Next reading assignment: You may remember the BBC animation version of "The Nun's Priest's Tale" -- it's the one about Chanticleer the rooster, who gets captured by a wily fox. This is the reading assignment for Tuesday. As usual, a SIFT worksheet on the tale is due at the beginning of class.

On Friday you will be taking The Canterbury Tales preliminary test, which includes an in-class essay with prompts to choose from The Wife of Bath's Tale, The Pardoner's Tale, and The Man of Law's Tale.
