Trip Itinerary -- June 2016
Day 1: Fly from Cincinnati to London
Day 2: London - Central Walking Tour: Visit The Strand, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, and Leicester Square. Ride the London Eye and see the city from a bird's-eye view.
Day 3: London - The City/Southwark: Visit Big Ben and Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. Eat lunch at Borough Market. Take a tour of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. See a play at a famous West End Theatre in Soho. We'll try to see either The 39 Steps or Curious Incident.
(Note. We may be able to see a play at the Globe, pending groundling ticket availability. These tickets go for only $8! In 2013, we saw "A Mid-summer Night's Dream, and in 2015 we saw "King John")
Day 4: London - Greenwich: Visit the Tower of London. Take a river cruise along the Thames to Greenwich. Visit the National Maritime Museum. Visit the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square.
Day 5: Oxford & Stratford: Visit the University of Oxford and tour Brasenose College. Eat at the Eagle & Child, haunt of J.R.R. Tolkein and C.S. Lewis. Enjoy free time in Oxford. In Stratford, visit Shakespeare's birthplace and Anne Hathaway's Cottage.
Day 6: London: Visit the Victoria & Albert Museum in South Kensington. Explore famous specialty bookstores and curiosity shops along The Strand and Cecil Court. Visit the Sherlock Holmes House at 221B Baker Street.
Day 7: Depart for home from London.
